First Two Weeks: Success!
School's off to an amazing start at Killeen High! Art I students have been learning about contour drawing and how to create an accurate line drawing of a hand. They blended pastel chalk to create a colorful background. The first two artists they learned about were M. C. Escher and Leonardo DaVinci.
The Sculpture I students have been working hard on their first project: paper practice sculptures. They are learning various techniques for manipulating paper such as folding, tearing, cutting texture, and crumpling for emphasis. They worked diligently and had great success!
Sculpture II students have also been pushing themselves to create new forms with paper. They've come up with some very creative layering techniques!
I couldn't be more thrilled with my amazing students and their willingness to try new things! Best job in the world. :)
